We are proud to introduce to the Azm University community Dr. Omar Nashabe who joined the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in January 2020 as a full time faculty member and head of the Azm Center for Criminal Justice and Security Sector Reform.

Dr. Nashabe is an analyst in Criminal Justice and Human Rights whose PhD degree in Human Services in Criminal Justice was earned at Walden University, USA. He has extensive teaching experience at the American University of Beirut and the Lebanese American University (2001-2016) and is a renowned specialist in his field. He has served as an adviser to the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities (2008-2011) and managed the first comprehensive monitoring of prison conditions in Lebanon. He has also served as consultant for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s Defense Counsels (2012-2018), and the ONCHR on drafting the Human Rights Curriculum for the Lebanese Army (2018). He is also a member of the UN Expert Group on Gender Justice and the Law. His publications include two books on prison reform and the Guide for Prison Inspection for the Lebanese Ministry of Justice.
