Karim Soueissi joined Azm University in 2019 where he currently teaches Macroeconomics, Business Finance, and Banking Operations. However, with 15 years of experience in the world of business and finance, Karim has also taught Business Finance, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Banking and Financial Crisis, Business Math, Accounting I, Combating Financial Crime, International Financial Management and Banking Operations.
He has worked at international and regional firms in the UAE including Fitch Ratings, Deloitte and Touche, and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. In 2015, Karim left Dubai and joined Cedrus Invest Bank in Beirut as Head of Risk Management. In 2016, he became a Fund Manager at Theemar Tripoli Investment Fund, mainly supporting and nurturing SME and startups. In 2019, he joined Azm University as a Senior Lecturer.
He has a Master’s in financial economics from Brunel University in London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance and Economics from the Lebanese American University in Beirut. He became a certified Financial Risk Manager by the Global Association of Risk Professionals in 2013 and certified in Combating Financial Crime by CISI in 2020.
Karim has a passion for Tripoli. He loves making salad. He likes all kind of sports, especially basketball and bodybuilding.
