Seven distinguished young scholars from northern Lebanon were honored during the annual Azm University School Directors Dinner, in recognition of their exceptional contributions to their academic fields.

The dinner, held recently under the patronage of His Excellency PM Najib Mikati, honored Dr. Hind Al Baba, Dr. Farah Haddad, Ms. Asil Honein, Dr. Mohamad Ali Khalil, Dr. Youmen Chaaban, Dr. Adnan M.S. Naja, and Dr. Ali Hussein Harmoush.

The seven scholars, who are all associated with different universities in the North, were selected by a committee appointed by Azm University specifically for that purpose. Under 45 years of age, every one of the seven academics is a very significant contributor to high-impact journals, and/or authors of critical scholarly works.

The awards to the honorees were presented by PM Mikati and Azm University President Ramez Maluf. In addressing the audience, Mr. Mikati congratulated the scholars for their work, saying that what they did not only contributed to the development of their disciplines, but that their work also benefitted their region and their country. He thanked the school directors for their presence and expressed his continuous support for the development of the university, an institution that he believed was resolutely on its way to be recognized as a leading educational institution in the North and in the country.

The dinner, organized by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs, was attended by over 250 guests from a number of schools in the North. In addition to a word from the host, Dr. Fouad Choueifaty, who thanked the principals for their presence, the deans of the faculties briefed the audience about their programs.
