As part of the Continuous Education Program (CEP), during the months of February and March, #Azmuniversity will be holding a series of lectures by distinguished personalities whose careers and research achievements are noteworthy and relevant to a wide audience, including our Azm University students.

Azm University has launched this series of lectures with the purpose of raising funds for student scholarships. The series provide an opportunity for sharing and discussing new insights and networking with peers.
The lectures will be informative, fun, and offer a diagnosis and a prognosis, where possible.

1. Redress you Space with Najat Hage



Interior Design | Friday, February 4, 2022 | 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM | English

Interior Design is the art to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing space by identifying your own personal design style. Najat Hage, a Lebanese interior designer specialized in furniture design, will be giving insights on how to master decorating your own house.

2. The Journey of a Journalist with Dr. Sami Kleib

Can a journalist navigate between commitment to beliefs and objective journalism? What influence does a life and a career in Europe, covering the Arab World, have on a Lebanese journalist?
The much-respected journalist Sami Kleib recounts his experiences, his close encounters with some of the Arab World's most important leaders, and the lessons he has drawn from his coverage of the most significant events of the last decades.

3. Understanding Lebanese Election Laws with Dr. Nidal Shaaban

Elections are considered to be a process to achieve democracy and as an indispensable element in the establishment and continuation of any free country. Dr. Nidal Shaaban, an Azm University, will be analyzing classic issues in election law through a social science lens.

4. Unlocking the Power of Women Entrepreneurs with Nadine Wilson Njeim

This lecture invites emerging women leaders to participate in this session designed to foster leadership, professional growth, and gender equity in the workplace.
This unique leadership seminar is designed to help emerging women leaders achieve their goals and equips them with the skills to advance their own careers.
Ms. Nadine Wilson Njeim, the former Miss Lebanon, current board member of LAU Innovate and who's in the process of obtaining her master's degree in Management from Harvard University, will be discussing the importance of Women involvement in the field of Entrepreneurship, and empowering women with entrepreneurial skills reach their full potential to create economic and social value for themselves, and the society.

5. Dealing with the Past - Post Conflict Lebanon with Selim Mawad

After the Lebanese war of 1975-1990 ended, the Sate and the Lebanese population accepted a conditional amnesty for all war crimes. Transitional justice was not even considered and as a result the warlords remained in power until the present day.
The lecture will focus on the repercussions of such an amnesty and how Lebanon missed a chance for sustainable peace. Selim Mawad, an expert in social psychology and political behavior, will present comparative case studies of transitional justice from Africa and Europe.

6. Evolution of Music between Arabic and Western with Dr. Houtaf Khoury

Music is widely considered a language that can be understood and perceived all around the world and a mean of integration between the West and East. Dr. Houtaf Khoury, a professional music composer and an Azm University instructor, will be providing the attendees with historical facts on music evolution over centuries.

7. The Fashion Conversation with Reem Kachmar

The fashion business lecture provides tools, tips, and resources to start, build and grow a successful fashion brand.
In this lecture, the Lebanese Fashion Designer, Reem Kachmar will share the latest and greatest trends in the fashion field as well as advices and inside tips on every aspect related to the industry, from passion to business, to production, fashion law, marketing, sales, and much more.

8. History of Art for Dummies with Dr. Ramez Maluf

Dr. Ramez Maluf, President of Azm University, will be presenting an introduction into four periods of art that reflected and transformed the way we look at the world.
