Azm University Team Advances to the Regional Summit of Hult Prize 2023

The Hult Prize Final Event at Azm University took place, where 3 finalist teams pitched their innovative solutions to make clothes more sustainable. The event featured 35+ attendees, including 4 judges, faculty, staff, students and guests. Congratulations to the winning team, TARCO, who was selected by the jury members to move on to the Hult prize regional summit.  The jury consisted of Dr. Mahmoud Hachem, founder, Earthquake Solutions, Ms. Lina Hawchar, branch manager at Fransabank sal, founder of B.YOUng, Mr. Ayman Mechlawi, entrepreneurship consultant and founder of Creativity Development Center, and Ms.  Najwa Sahmarani, co-founder, and vice president of Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club.
 
The event started by welcoming remarks from the Hult Prize campus director, Ms. Reham Jedaydeh, who gave an overview about the Hult Prize Challenge and shared a recap of the participants' journey throughout the internal competition at Azm university.  Then, the director of the Azm University Entrepreneurship Center, Mr. Hani Mawlawi, highlighted the importance of business idea competitions, such as Hult Prize Challenge, in helping students develop their entrepreneurial skills. Mr. Mawlawi  then applauded the competing teams, all of whom showed creativity, self-confidence and perseverance, regardless of the pressure and challenges faced during the competition.  
 
During the pitching, each team had four minutes to present their business ideas and four minutes for a Q&A session with the judges. The presentations were insightful, well-researched, and demonstrated the teams' commitment to social entrepreneurship. After all presentations were delivered, the judges selected the winning team, which was announced with thunderous applause. The winning team “TARCO” was led by Wajih Mazloum, and included Malameh Chehadeh, Moemen Ghanem and Sabine Saad. The final event was concluded with the distribution of certificates and trophies of appreciation to the judges, as well as certificates of achievement to all members of the competing teams and the Hult Prize organization committee, and finally by cutting and sharing the celebratory cake!   
The Hult Prize Final Pitch was an inspiring event that highlighted the importance of social entrepreneurship in addressing some of the world's most pressing problems. Congratulations to all participants and the winning team, and may their innovative solutions go on to make a meaningful difference in the world.

About the Azm University Entrepreneurship Center

The Azm University Entrepreneurship Center is a special initiative to motivate and promote entrepreneurship and innovation among university students and the society at large in North Lebanon. The Center shall provide opportunities for students to develop their entrepreneurship skills through participating in various business idea competitions as well as attending related training courses, workshops, local and national seminars, conferences, etc.
